With all the recent press coverage of some companies putting the need for female employees to wear heels in their dress code, and Julia Roberts taking a stand and going barefoot on the red carpet in Cannes rather than wear the mandatory 3 inch minimum heel, I picked some of my favourite flats to show that shoes don’t have to be frumpy, and can be elegant!
I have never been a lover of flat shoes (perhaps its the memory of regulation school shoes!)…I have hobbled in heels in the most unlikely places.
I love feminine shoes but mostly find flat shoes tend to have rounded toes. I love the comfort of ballerinas, but not how they look on my feet. Heels help to make your legs look longer, flats tend to my legs look short and stumpy. But I have fallen in love with pointy toe flats.
They’re are comfortable , look feminine and can work with dresses as well as jeans.
These shoes are all my own – ans as you can see fairly well worn! Some were bought last summer..although I have just bought a replacement pair of the silver ones for less than £20 in the sale. These are from Moda in Pelle
Here are some others I love!

A sportier pointed toe flat from ASOS
Smart enough for the office from House of Fraser
