If you’ve never been on a cruise before, or you have and are looking for that new and exciting destination, there are several fantastic once-in-a-lifetime cruises that are not to be missed. Cruising is an excellent way to see the world, experience new cultures and have a bit of rest and relaxation along the way. These cruising itineraries are sure to do all that and more.

Experience the incredible sight of the Aurora Borealis, or as it’s commonly known, the northern lights. These beautiful glowing wisps light up the night sky with arrays of vibrant purples and greens. One of the best places to spot this once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon is in Norway. Not only will you glimpse one of the wonders of the world, but you’ll also be surrounded by awe-inspiring scenery and rolling hills.

Alaska and British Columbia

Another northern beauty not to be missed is the Pacific West Coast and Alaska. Travelling through these waters you’ll spot fantastic wildlife that you’re likely to have never seen before, including killer whales, seals and dolphins. You’ll also be cruising around magnificent glowing glaciers and serene water – with added icebergs. This winter wonderland is a sight so incredible it needs to be seen up close. Once you arrive in Alaska you can join in on the many outdoor activities and hikes and maybe even spot a grizzly bear!

The Panama Canal has been recognised by the American Society of Civil Engineers as one of the seven wonders of the modern world. This man-made 77-kilometre long waterway in Panama connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific, and there are numerous cruise lines that venture right through it. Along your Panama Canal journey you’ll stop at exotic places like Costa Rica and Columbia. With beautiful white beaches and crystal clear water these stop offs will feel like stepping into a postcard.

St. Lucia

St. Lucia is home to some spectacular sights that you rarely find all in one place. Once you port you can spend your journey exploring the St. Lucian banana plantations, palm tree lined beaches, mountains, rain forests and even a drive in a volcano. Cruises here will take you directly past the symbol of the island, The Pitons. These two volcanic cones rise up from the sea at over 700 metres high, a truly incredible sight to behold.

World Cruises

Not to be forgotten about is the all-time globetrotter’s preference, the world cruise. World cruises do exactly what is says on the tin, take you to several countries all over the world and can span from 40 nights to three-four months. Once you’re on board one of these cruises you’ll be entertained from day one, with numerous restaurants, swimming pools and spas. But of course the point of a world cruise is to see the world, and this type of excursion can really only be called a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

There are lots of deals out there for you to peruse and imagine yourself on. One of the most popular goes from New York to New York. This cruise sets off from the Big Apple and hits so many major cities and countries you’ll lose track of count, including the UK, South Africa, Australia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, South Korea, Thailand, Dubai, Egypt and Italy, all before returning to New York. Talk about an unmissable opportunity.
