Research conducted by insurance and travel specialist Staysure shows when it comes to the dating scene, over-50s still look to find love offline – with some revealing that they’ve made a romantic connection whilst attending a funeral.
New research into the trends of ‘romance in later life’ has revealed that more than two thirds of over-50s believe in ‘playing the field’ and dating more than one person at one time – while two in five think it’s fine to jump into bed on a first date.
Keeping your options open in later life could be a result of past hurt, as a quarter admit that they’ve cheated on a partner, whilst some vow they would never forgive someone for being unfaithful. One in ten has confessed that they have in fact forgiven a partner for straying.
Both men and women agree that being open to new things is the most important quality in a romantic partner. Men also prioritise ‘good looks’ at the top of their list – compared to women who rank practical skills such as ‘the ability to fix things’ and ‘interest in food and cooking’ amongst the top qualities they require from their other half.…
