There are so many opportunities available to those of us over 50 today than ever before. Midlife has been transformed over the past decade or so, and whether through choice or necessity, most of us are in still in employment or setting up businesses.
Reinvention seems to be preferred to retirement.
But there are times when we need a little support or inspiration when it comes to our next steps in our 50plus journey, which is why I am delighted to have been asked to speak at event designed to do just that.
Organised by Reading UK CIC and Sintassi, Re: Your Future – A Dynamic Event for Mature Workers event is designed to help you re engage with employers, and understand how to best market your skills in today’s workplace, look at how to set up that new business, and re-energise your life by setting new challenges.
Why have they asked me to speak?
Well, I had a very long career as a headhunter…working a in the UK, across Europe and North America. I have been a careers expert for a 50plus project for the Times, and am frequently called upon to give tips in the media for 50plus jobseekers.
I shall speaking at the event about some of the mistakes 50plus jobseekers make- and how to do things the best way to maximise your potential to get that job.
